| Frequently
Asked Questions ?
What will I receive when I sponsor a child ?
- Picture folder and a brief history
of your sponsored child
- Annual progress report of your
sponsored child
- Correspondence between you and
your sponsored child and prearranged sponsor visits
- Above all, self-fulfillment
at being able to help a poor child obtain a better life
How will my contribution
be spent ?
Your sponsored child and his family
will not receive the money directly. Instead, your donation will
be added to that of people who sponsor children in the same community
as your child. The type of care provided depends on what the community
needs most-school, medical facilities, agricultural development
or vocation training. The children will benefit directly from school
uniform, textbook and school materials, medical and dental treatment,
school lunch and ethical education. Their families will get vocational
or agricultural training to help boost their yields and increase
family income. The community leaders are also offered community
development training courses while environmental preservation, hygiene,
and clean drinking water supply are introduced to the community.
How long will my sponsor
last ?
Joining the Child Sponsorship Program totally
depends on you. We have no limitation on numbers of children or
sponsorship period. You can sponsor a child for as long as the project
continues or as long as the child stays in an area where World Vision
staff is working or until the child and their family are well independent
and need no further assistance. It is all up to your will and your
financial situation. But as a process of developing a child's life
takes some time to see a success, we therefore recommend a continued
support.

Can I Visit my sponsored child ?
The visit of sponsor
is always a good way for you and your sponsored child to know and
understand each other. Above other things, this will prove to you
that your help brings him and his family a change for a better life.Sponsor
wishing to visit his or her sponsored child should contact World
Vision at least 2 weeks in advance for preparation arrangement.
Otherwise, you might wait until the "Sponsors Meets Their Children"
day, which is listed in World Vision Activity Plan. On either case,
sponsor must bear all the expenses incurred during the visit.

How should I send money to
my sponsored child ?
There are many ways
to send the sponsorship money: personal check or money order payable
to World Vision, money transfer to World Vision's saving account,
automatic payment via credit card or bank account deduction services.
The sponsorship money can be sent on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annually
or annually basis. After having sent the contribution, please inform
World Vision of the amount and date paid for record and receipt.
(Our receipt is tax-deductible according to the Ministry of Finance
Announcement.)

Who will monitor or take responsibility of how the sponsorship money
is spent ?
World Vision has conducted
internal and external audits to account for our project implementations
and financial arrangements. This is to assure you that the contributions
are appropriately and wisely spent for the benefits of those in
need.
The contribution will be used in project implementation and administrative
management. While implementation expenses go to community-based
activities and development projects, including caseworkers and field
staff who work closely with the community and local authorities,
the administration expenses cover the costs in keeping records,
translating and forwarding letters or information to sponsors, which
will not exceed 25% of the total donation as specified in the Ministry
of Finance's rules and regulations.
…Every cent of the
sponsorship money will be at its full use for needy children, their
families and the community in which they live… |
