On 16 August 2025, World Vision Foundation of Thailand<\/strong>, in collaboration with Compassion of Christ Mission Foundation, the Sub-district Health-promoting Hospital, the Sub-district Administrative Organisation<\/strong>, and local schools,<\/strong> organised the \u2018Mobile Medical Unit in Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province\u2019<\/strong> activity to provide general medical check-ups and distribute eyeglasses to children and community members in the area.<\/p>

This initiative aimed to enhance access to basic healthcare services in the remote area, focusing on preliminary health screenings, identifying patients with severe symptoms, and referring them for appropriate treatment.<\/p>

Ms Rosalin Kowae,<\/strong> National Director of World Vision Foundation of Thailand, stated, \u201cToday is a wonderful opportunity for us to work with Compassion of Christ Mission Foundation to provide health check-ups for children in Tha Song Yang District. Over 400 children and more than 200 adults participated. This area faces health challenges, especially among children. We found cases of malnutrition, with children not receiving adequate nutrients, which affects their health and development.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

World Vision Foundation of Thailand has continuously implemented various projects to improve community quality of life, such as the Breakfast for Kids project, which ensures young children receive nutritious morning meals, provides nutritional guidance to parents. There is also the establishment of the community first-aid centre and collaboration with local health-promoting hospitals.<\/p>

During the event, more than 660 community members, including primary and secondary school students, received health check-ups and eyeglasses. The health data collected will serve as a foundation for long-term health promotion planning.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Dr Pornchai Wongurailertkul,<\/strong> a volunteer doctor from Compassion of Christ Mission Foundation, said, \u201cMost patients were children, which aligns with my area of expertise. There were few cases of acute illness, indicating that basic healthcare here is relatively good. However, up to 90% of the children had oral health issues, particularly tooth decay and plaque build-up. These should be addressed through preventive measures such as teaching proper brushing techniques, providing fluoride, and regular dental check-ups.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Dr Chalaiporn Iamsirithaworn,<\/strong> another volunteer doctor, added, \u201cMost children are in good health. Observing their behaviours\u2014such as shyness, fear, or introversion\u2014suggests that having psychologists or attentive teachers could help prevent long-term mental health issues.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
