On 28 August 2025, World Vision Foundation of Thailand<\/strong> held an ‘Afternoon Tea’<\/strong> event in a warm and friendly atmosphere at Banyan Tree Bangkok. The event aimed to strengthen relationships with both existing and prospective donors, while raising funds for the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Programme, <\/strong>which seeks to provide higher education opportunities for disadvantaged youth.<\/p>

This event was honoured by an all-female group of donors, reflecting the powerful role women play in driving social change through education. Four inspiring women took to the stage to share their perspectives and stories, highlighting the importance of education.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Ms Rosalin Kowae,<\/strong> National Director of World Vision Foundation of Thailand, welcomed donors and shared the organisation\u2019s ministry:<\/p>

\u201cWe work with the well-being of children at the heart of everything we do, regardless of their ethnicity or religion. We believe education is the key to transforming a child\u2019s life, helping them grow with quality and secure a stable future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

She also introduced the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Programme: \u201cThis initiative is our commitment to opening doors for underprivileged youth to pursue higher education, enabling them to secure stable careers and return to develop their communities.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Mrs Laura, or Sasitorn Wattanagool, <\/strong>a member of World Vision Foundation of Thailand\u2019s Board of Directors, shared her experience as a teacher working closely with children. She emphasised that education is what opens the door to a wider world, allowing children to become self-reliant and support their families in the future.<\/p>

To help attendees deeply understand the feeling of being deprived of education, Mrs Laura invited everyone to take part in a short activity\u2014holding their breath <\/strong>for a few moments.<\/p>

\u201cA child without access to education is like someone who cannot breathe\u2014it is a lack of the most essential element for living and growing with quality,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p>

This activity left a lasting impression, reinforcing the idea that education is not just about knowledge but the foundation of a meaningful life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The event was also joined by Ampai Narentorn, or Bow,<\/strong> who was supported by the Child Sponsorship and Bachelor\u2019s Degree Programmes until she graduated from Kasetsart University, Faculty of Forestry. Now she works as an arborist\u2014a professional in the care and management of large trees.<\/p>

The event was filled with smiles, warmth, and inspiration from all the speakers, reaffirming the importance of education in transforming a child into a capable adult who can pass on value to society.<\/p>

This event would not have been possible without the support of Banyan Tree Bangkok, one of our partners, which generously provided the venue to promote educational futures for children and youth in remote areas.<\/p>
