On 16 September 2025, World Vision Foundation of Thailand held a celebration and handover ceremony for the community development for self-reliance and sustainability project in Mueang District<\/strong>, Mae Hong Son Province, which has been one of the operational areas of the Child Sponsorship <\/strong>programme since 2002, thanks to all sponsors who have walked alongside the project for over 23 years.<\/p>

Sirima Wungpa, <\/strong>Programme Manager, Mae Hong Son Province, shared the project\u2019s achievements: \u201cThroughout the years, World Vision Foundation of Thailand has aimed to enable children, families, and communities to achieve well-being and sustainable self-reliance.<\/strong> The project covered four sub-districts: Pha Bong, Pang Mu, Huai Pu Ling, and Huai Pong, comprising a total of 32 villages.<\/em> A total of 3,891 sponsored children <\/strong>and more than 10,000 community members<\/strong> have benefited from development efforts in various areas, thanks to collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, faith-based organisations, and the communities themselves.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The atmosphere at the event was filled with warmth, pride, and smiles of success. All parties came together to celebrate the achievements of this long-running initiative. Exhibitions and showcases were held to reflect the outcomes of the project, including initiatives such as vocational skills training for students, youth leadership development programmes, and performances by children and youths.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The event was presided over by Acting Major Yutthana Jaoduree<\/strong>, Mueang District Chief, Mae Hong Son Province. Also in attendance were Mrs Ramchan Chaiyasit<\/strong>, Chairperson of the Mae Hong Son Project Committee, and Mrs Rosalin Kowae,<\/strong> National Director of World Vision Foundation of Thailand, along with executives, volunteers, and distinguished guests who joined in the celebration.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Mrs Ramchan Chaiyasit<\/strong> remarked, \u201cThrough the implementation of this project, we have witnessed clear and meaningful change. Sponsored children have gained access to education. Many young people have continued their studies at higher levels and have developed life and vocational skills to prepare for self-reliance. At the same time, families and communities have been empowered to build well-being, secure livelihoods and incomes, and achieve sustainable self-reliance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
