Mr.Phaisilp Limthongtip, Managing Director of APChas ledover 30 volunteers on this CSR trip as part of “Water Supply System and Drinking Water Improvement Project”, which benefits Bannongbuathong School. In this occasion, Dr.Bunjongsek Supsopha, WVFT’s Marketing and Fundraising Director and Mrs.Nichanan Pookamdaeng, a teacher of Bannongbuathong School have given them a warm welcome while the students have expressed their appreciation through a traditional dance performance.
The management and staff from APC got into small groups to do bonding activities with the students to break the ice before heading to work together in the farming plot for lunch. All enjoyed preparing the soil, sowing vegetable seeds on the plot and planting lime trees in cement tubes amidst raindrops. All participants felt deeply impressed with these activities. It was a moment that a strongly united effort was reflected by the fellow colleagues, who did not seem to care about getting themselves slushy while stomping in the muddy soil. We have been touched by the sense of caring that the management and the staff have for the kids.
“We are fully aware of the importance of water and the need to have water for consumption available in the remote area. So, we would like to join hands in the water supply improvement, which is an essential infrastructure we would like to provide to the school. We highly hope that the school and the community will take advantage of it to further their ability to achieve sustainable self-reliance in the future.” Mr.Phaisilp, the management from APC, told us about his good intention to do the activities today.
Ms.Woranan Tharchoo, a volunteer, said “I’m so glad to be part of the handing over of clean drinking water to the students, so that they have clean water to drink and to use, as well as to do agriculture at school. Most importantly, I personally would like to show my support I have for all teachers and students.”
“Water Supply System and Drinking Water Improvement Project” at Bannongbuathong School includes the construction of a water tower, the improvement of the water supply system and the provision of clean drinking water with the installation of a reverse osmosis filtration system to equip the school with a clean potable water source to sufficiently supply 107 students and other 40 young kids in the child care center and to provide water to carry out Agriculture for Lunch Project.
“Thank you for extending your kind helps to such a small school in the far-away area. APC and WVFT have helped children to have water to drink and to grow vegetables in the plot to be cooked for lunch. Thank you so much.”These are words of thanks from Ms.Nichanan Pookamdaeng, a teacher at Nongbuathong School.
