Niwat is an 11-year-old boy living with his grandparents, who are daily workers on a corn farm in Mae Hong Son province. Their home lacks access to both electricity and running water. The only electronic device in the house is a single solar-powered light bulb that works for just three hours a night; for drinking water, they must collect it from the village and carry it back home.
Despite these hardships, his grandfather and grandmother provide him with boundless love to cultivate a future full of hope.
Grandfather’s Love: Every day, his grandfather takes him to school—located four kilometers away over steep and rugged terrain—on a motorcycle, ensuring his grandson has the same opportunity to learn as any other child.
Grandmother’s Love: Her hard work and the meals she prepares serve as the vital nourishment that allows Niwat to grow up strong.
A Love for Learning: Most importantly, Niwat’s own passion for education is his greatest inspiration, fueling his dream of becoming a scientist one day.
Niwat is not alone; many other children in remote areas are still waiting for an opportunity—not just the chance to have enough food to satisfy their hunger each day, but the chance to grow up healthy and see the “saplings of their dreams” blossom into strong, sturdy trees.
You can help nurture these seeds of hope for children like Niwat.

Many underprivileged children lack access to quality education.
