World Vision Foundation of Thailand extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Sasawat Khumthong, a member of the Children and Youth Council of World Vision Foundation of Thailand on being named a 2026 National Outstanding Youth for Social and Community Development. He will receive a royal honorary plaque and certificate on the occasion of National Youth Day 2026, as well as the 2025 Royal Award from the Ministry of Education for upper secondary school students.
This proud achievement reflects Mr. Sasawat’s dedication, sense of responsibility, and commitment to public service. He remains devoted to the greater good, placing the interests of his community and society above all else—even when he is personally affected by challenging circumstances.
One of his notable contributions was his work as a World Vision Youth Volunteer, supporting response efforts along the Thailand–Cambodia border. At a temporary shelter in Surin Province, he helped care for and protect children and support their psychological well-being. His efforts demonstrate the vital role young people can play in standing alongside those affected by crises and fostering positive change in society.
In addition, as a member of the Children and Youth Council of World Vision Foundation of Thailand, Mr. Sasawat was selected to represent both the Foundation and Thailand at the ‘2025 Regional Children’s Consultation for the 2nd ASEAN Plan of Action on the Elimination of Violence Against Children (RPA-EVAC).’ The consultation gathered recommendations and perspectives from children and youth to support the development of the ASEAN Plan of Action on the Elimination of Violence Against Children by the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC), for presentation to ASEAN leaders at the 2026 ASEAN Summit.
Mr. Sasawat’s perspectives and recommendations at this international forum not only reflected the views and needs of Thai children and youth, but also contributed to concrete efforts to strengthen the protection of the rights, well-being, and safety of children and young people across ASEAN member states.
