Spanish-Thai Chamber of Commerce Hosts Annual Charity Dinner in Partnership with World Vision Foundation of Thailand to Raise Funds for Remote Communities

Uniting the business and the civil society to create opportunities and hope for Ban Yang Pao Community through the Annual Charity Dinner

On 25 November, the Spanish-Thai Chamber of Commerce (SPTCC) organised its Annual Charity Dinner at Albricias Restaurant, Chatrium Residence Sathon, Bangkok, to raise funds in support of World Vision Foundation of Thailand’s LIFE Project. This initiative aims to empower women and children in Ban Yang Pao Community, Omkoi District, Chiang Mai, by creating sustainable opportunities to improve their quality of life.

The LIFE Project was born from community collaboration, with support from Amadeus Asia Limited, to establish a women’s weaving group that will later evolve into a training centre and sales outlet. This space has become a focal point for learning, income generation, and community development, managed by local women who contribute to its upkeep. However, additional support is needed for Phase 2, which focuses on three key areas: income generation and skills development, agricultural productivity improvement, and sustainable community engagement.

To achieve these goals, the Spanish-Thai Chamber of Commerce partnered with World Vision Foundation of Thailand to ensure the LIFE Project delivers tangible and lasting impact.

The event was filled with warmth and the spirit of giving, graced by H.E. Mr Felipe de la Morena Casado, Ambassador of Spain to Thailand, who delivered the opening remarks. Over 90 distinguished guests attended, enjoying a cocktail dinner, inspiring talks from organisational representatives, and live music performances that added to the atmosphere of hope and collaboration.

In addition to fundraising, World Vision Foundation of Thailand showcased and sold products from Ban Yang Pao Community, including handwoven fabrics, rice, handicrafts, and fresh coffee beans produced by students from Ban Yang Pao School, as well as artwork created by local youth. Guests had the opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship and dedication behind these items, while learning about World Vision Foundation of Thailand’s programmes supporting vulnerable children and families nationwide — from education and child protection to sustainable community development.

The success of this event reflects the power of collaboration between the business sector and the non-profit organisation, united in their commitment to creating opportunities and hope for communities in need.

World Vision Foundation of Thailand extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to building a brighter future for children and families in remote areas. Every act of support is a vital force driving sustainable change in people’s lives.
